Planches et Plonk.

Congratulations on your first month.

Class, style and elegance are words that spring to mind when you step inside Planches and Plonk. From the ceiling to the floor Graham and Damon have created a wonderful place to socialise, drink their excellent wine and eat their selection of fresh cheese and charcuterie.

We have been reading each others blogs for many years and it was a joy for me to learn that they were moving to Belves to open their own establishment. Yesterday was the first time we had meet in person and they were both very welcoming and friendly and keen to share their experiences and of course their love of wine and cheese.

They have both worked hard through the planning, decorating, running a bar, sourcing the best suppliers, decorating the two Chamber d’hotes and of course having to delay their opening due to Covid 19. Wow, they have worked wonders transforming the old haberdashery store into the new cheese and wine bar.

Congratulations Graham and Damon on your first month.

This is the preparation area. Love the floor tiles.

Sit and relax in comfort, style and elegance.

Brilliant idea to have large open doors at the front which brings in the natural light. You can sit outside or in, there is plenty of room to socialise with your friends.

This is the first room with the lovely wine glass chandelier. I got caught on camera reading through their excellent wine list.

Our platter of several delightful cheeses, nicely presented and so tasty. The wine was just right to compliment the cheese. Delicious, we will certainly return again in the not so far future.

Graham and Damon also offer bed and breakfast and a wine tasting experience.

Anyone visiting the Perigord or living in the Perigord area should visit Planches et Plonk in Belves. You will be greeted by excellent hosts who are more than willing to impart their knowledge of wine and cheeses.

Their first wine tasting event was sold out in the first few days so you need to keep checking out their Facebook site for the next one.

They are open from midday on Tuesday to Sunday and from 6pm to midnight on Mondays.

  2. Thank you so much for dropping by yesterday, Chris, and for this lovely review. As you say, we have been following each other’s blogs for years now, so it was such a pleasure to meet you in the flesh. À très bientôt !
