The car body and paint workshop on the Grand Rue in Cénac was completely destroyed by fire last Monday, October 1st, the fire broke out around 19:00. Several gas and acetylene bottles exploded making firefighter’s work very difficult. Forty men were called to control the incident.
The facade of the building facing the Grand Rue is unstable and in danger of collapsing, a security perimeter has been set up reducing the road to single lane.
These pictures were taken the following morning.
Such a mess. I am so glad to say that no one was injured.
Vide-Grenier – 7th October, eight am until six pm, Salle des Fêtes de St Cybranet.
The de-icer was out this morning it was -3 when we left the village to go to Castlenaud for bread and then on to the Sunday market at St Cyprian. The country side looked like a Christmas card all crisp and white with frost, gorgeous.
To our great joy several charity events for the Téléthon were in progress, this is such a worthy cause for children each year.
So after buying vegetables, fruit and cup cakes! The cup cakes were from a stall selling cakes, coffee and mulled wine, proceeds for the Téléthon. We had our car washed by the local fire brigade, wow.
I did fancy driving around the car park and returning to the firemen for another car wash, but somehow Paul drove on!
